We’ll admit it — we may be a bit biased, but here at Camp Bow Wow, we believe that National Love Your Pet Day is one of the greatest days of the year! We love to celebrate all the joy our furry friends bring to the table by reciprocating all the affection they give us day in and day out. Whether you’re a pet parent or a Camp owner, or perhaps both, here are a few ways our pet expert Erin Askeland suggests you show Fido and Fluffy you care — today, and every day thereafter.
Bake some homemade treats.
Mmm! There’s nothing like the smell of fresh goodies baking in the oven, and we’re sure your furry friend would agree. Only most times, we bet those goodies aren’t meant for Fido. Not this time though! Surprise and delight your dog with some homemade dog treats or a fancy gourmet doggy meal with all his favorite fixings.
Share a doggy mocktail.
Did you know that there are companies out there, like Pet Winery and Apollo Peak, who’ve managed to manufacture the perfect bubbly for furry friends? That’s right! Now you can kick back, relax, and share a delicious drink with your pet. (And as long as you’re over 21, feel free to pour the real deal into your own glass!)
Make time for cuddles and pampering.
Pampering? More like pup-pering! If your pet doesn’t mind a good grooming, treat him to a spa day with all the bells and whistles at your local groomer, or at the very least, in your own home. Then, follow it up with a cozy cuddle session and a pet-friendly favorite — like AirBud, The Secret Life of Pets, or Homeward Bound. All are always both people- and pet-pleasers, no matter which way you slice it.
