Bow Wow Buddies Granted Over $150k in 2017

Back in January 2017, we set out with one goal in mind for the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation, and that was to help more dogs in 2017. Well, the year-end results are in, and it looks like we’ve succeeded — by an impressive 40%, at that.

What is the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation?

The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation is our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to maintain healthy and happy lifestyles for our furry loved ones. Through the foundation, we’re able to offer sick and injured dogs across North America a new “leash” on life by providing grants for medical care. Whether a dog is homeless or his/her parents simply cannot afford the climbing cost of emergency veterinary care, the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation is always there to lend a paw whenever possible.

How Many Dogs Did the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation Help in 2017?

In 2016, with the help of donations from our dog-loving ladies and gents around the globe, the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation was able to help a total of 60 dogs in need of urgent medical care. Last year, with our sights on a bright future for the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation, we managed to help nearly 30 more, for a total of 89 tail-wagging, romping, rolling, slobbery-kissing, doggone great, furry friends and their parents who were elated to have been given a second chance. The actual amount of grant money disbursed totaled more than $150,000.

“In 2017, we saw the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation gain unprecedented traction as it received support from our franchise owners’ Camps throughout the country as well as through clients and community members,” says Erin Askeland, Training & Communication Manager for Camp Bow Wow and the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation.

Erin credits “local initiatives and events hosted at Camps,” as well as “dedicated patrons such as ten-year-old Hannah Okel of Waukesha, Wisconsin who asked for donations to the Foundation in lieu of birthday gifts,” for helping to grow our community and spread the word.

These things “prove we’ve built a strong network of those who are passionate about fundraising and supporting the Foundation’s cause,” believes Erin.

Each year, hundreds of dogs are denied access to urgent medical care, simply because their parents, foster parents, or rescuers cannot afford it. With help from donations, the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation is able to award grants of up to $2,500 for necessary medical treatments for dogs in need across North America. Lend a paw and donate today!
