5 New Year’s Resolutions For Camp Bow Wow Franchise Owners

Each new year brings the promise of a clean slate and the opportunity for a new start and a fresh outlook – cue the New Year’s Resolutions! But, before you finalize that list of personal goals, ask yourself, “have I included any new objectives to enhance my professional life as well?” If the answer is a resounding, “no,” as a Camp Bow Wow business owner, here’s how you can get started:

1. I will assess my business practices.

Whether things are going well or could be better, it’s always important to assess the situation in search for areas of improvement. Take a look at your current sales efforts and the results you’re seeing. Is there something you can be doing to give your grooming services a boost, or to maximize your Camp package sales during the slower seasons? Perhaps revisiting your interview process and zeroing in on new questions and conversations will help your business succeed. Remember, don’t be afraid to ask your employees, and even your Campers’ parents, for feedback as well!

2. I will get to know my employees.

At the core of every Camp’s success are two main factors: Furry friends and the Camp Counselors who care for them. Your employees are your greatest asset, and they should know it. Take some time to get to know them and consider planning some team bonding activities both inside and outside of work.

3. I will stay on top of my industry.

Working in the fast-growing, $60 billion dollar pet care industry can be overwhelming at times, but as a business owner it’s important to keep yourself in the loop. Frequent industry news sources and stay up to date on the latest and greatest surrounding all things canine. On the flipside, it’s also important to keep in contact with us here at Camp Bow Wow headquarters to ensure you’re Camp is following the latest protocol.

4. I will get involved in my community.

The key to building a loyal following of Campers is positioning your Camp as a trustworthy retreat for both pets and pet parents. How do you do that? By jumping at every opportunity to get involved with your local community of course! Participate in charity events, set up a booth at local fairs, and offer to lend a paw in any way you’re able.

5. I will make time for myself.

There’s no doubt about it – owning a franchise is hard work, especially when that means caring for energetic pups all day! Life can get pretty hectic as a business owner, so it’s important to take some time out for yourself every once in awhile. Take a vacation, turn off your phone, or simply allow yourself a peaceful, uninterrupted lunch break. Taking a step back from the business allows you to come back full force, with a clear head in tow!
